Fork in the road
You are walking down a road and arrive at a fork that splits the road into two separate paths. When you reach, you meet two identical twins, each standing at the edge of one of the two paths. You have heard that there is a bag with $1,000,000 at the end of one path and you are told that one of the two twins always tells the truth and the other always lies. There is no way you can get to the end of both roads before the sun goes down.
What ONE question can you ask (of only one twin) that would lead you to the money?
Discussion
Is the significance of them being identical twins so you know that each individual twin knows the other is a liar or truth teller? The given response obviously relies on that
Good alternate answer, souljacker.
hahahahahaha, thats great!
but if ive heard there is a million bucks at the end of one road i would have come prepared with a flashlight to search in the dark and a 4 pack of red bull to stay up all night (i cant wait till the next day, someone else might have heard there’s a money bag and might beat me to it)
Severely injure one of them, and listen to the resulting explicatives. It will quickly become obvious which one is the liar.
The moral of this story: logical questions can be solved with violence
These kind of questions are awesome.
My grade 5 teacher asked us this and then remarked how we were all materialistic :/
